Delayed :P

Like I predicted in the last post. Part 3 is going to be delayed. Right now I'm lying in my bed in some village where all the roads end called Norberg and time to record the last part of my trilogy just doesnt exist :(

But I promise that I will do it asap. That's all for now. Now I have to bounce before my roomie starts screaming at me for playing trance.

Sweden aint the right country for music lovers like me...

Peace!

Searching

not for inspiration. Have plenty of that, for sure :) Just searching for time at the moment. Next week I'll do some jamming with a friend that might be my dj partner in the future. After that all I'm waiting for is to do some gigs.

We have abit of a silent agreement that if I teach him how to DJ with Ableton Live he will teach me how to handle CD-Player. Great deal!

Not very long post today. A friend is coming over soon and cant let him find out im lolblogging.

Track of the day. David Guetta the man have done it again. Awesome new single. Here it is.

Step forward

It's 11:41 and I just woke up. Had a fever yesterday but it feels better now. I just wanna finish school now. One week left and I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

So in one week I'll try to start my Moulin Rouge mixing project again. Hard but fun. The hard part is that the Moulin Rouge soundtracks are very changing in bpm and intensity. But I promise. If I manage to avoid those obstacles it will be freaking good!

That's all for now I think.
Until further notice.

Clarification

As the title suggest. Some clarification of who I am could be good.

It all started like most of the kids I grew up around. Buying mainstream CD:s as the biggest happening of the month. Aqua, Bloodhound Gang, ... you name it.
The collection is still hidden somewhere in my closet, but let's shush bout that ;).

At the age of.. hm.. 8 (?) I was introduced to a instrument called contra-bass. A big thing that was awkward too carry around cuz of its weight. Anyway, thanks to that piece of wood I managed to obtain a really good music ear. I played it for around 6-7 years and managed to get into orchestras where dress code was a must. I did not like that.

The period we're at now 15-18 is quite easy and common. I was a mad fanatic of the punk/rock music genre and could probably sing-a-long all the tracks that existed. It's not a secret that the fact that Blink 182 recently started playing together again made me kiddo happy.

We're at the juicy part already? Hm. I hate to spoil it for ya'll but I've been tryi ng to figure out who introduced me to the trance music and no luck so far. What's sure is that it did not take long before I was stuck in the swamp. The first year I was pretty damn narrow in what I listened to. It was almost only Vocal Trance.

Now before I write anything about present time I feel the need to split my music world into two pieces.

What I listen to on my spare time.

What I produce and listen to because of that.

On my spare time I listen to pretty much EVERYTHING. And I really mean everything. There are days where ballads is the choice and days where death metal rocks my senses high.

The music I devote myself to produce and mix is of another nature and that's the part I intend to write about in here. When I'm DJ:ing, making club mixes. Okay, it's pretty sad to call me a DJ because my first real gig will happen after this summer, but I'm bragging bastards so why not? Where was I. Oh yea. What kind of music do I mix. Let's say I'm making a 60 minute long mix for club use in Sweden. 50% of it will be mainstream House Remixes and 50% will be music I like and in secret squeez into the playlist.

What is a House Remix?

The answer is quite simple. I bet many have experienced this scenario. You're at a club and decide to shake some booty on the dance floor. Okay so far so good. You dance and suddenly Kate Perry starts singing "I kissed a girl" in a instrumental in a track that aint the original. This is a House remix and whats different from the original track is that it's made for club use. That often means higher tempo, stronger beats, and what I like to call extasy points. A extasy point happen right before the refrain and is like a indicator that it will so the crowd is ready to bounce even more. An example is that the bass-drum hits faster and faster until its just a constant flow of bass then BOM! Refain kicks off.

That's the basics of a house remix. Short and simple.

Oh god. This post became longer than expected and has no real purpose in it. Oh well. It proves what I long suspected. I'm good at pooping out words and finally found a way to do it without anyone watching.. har har.

Two things remain to be posted this time.
First of all I'm gonna post a link to my latest club mix. It's 90 minutes long and really describes what I've been talking about. I dont like most house remixes but you have to have them or you'll fail. But 50% is tracks that I like and managed to squeez in pretty well hidden ;).

Here's the link.

Harmonic Club Mix

Track of the day is one of very few mainstream house remixes that I really like. They exist. So here it is.

Abstinence

Today it's friday. I just came home from a long walk with my dog aka brother. My abstinence to make music has almost a success rate of 100% to hit me during those walks. I usually download the latest show by Armin van Buuren (A state of trance for those who know what that is) and go for atleast an hour with that in my ears.

It's not a coincedence that he is the worlds best DJ, not just in my head, but officialy voted to be. First off, he have balls to really play the music he loves and not go with crappy mainstream house remixes like most of the DJ:s today (me included. yea, I'm a horrible person).

Second. The guy is freaking good. If you're not very informed in the area you probably just take music for granted and dont appreciate the hours/days/weeks/years of work it takes from you. But you do it because you love it, like all jobs aims to make you feel but rarely succeed. And Armin is one devoted guy. He's managed to broadcast over 400 radio shows. One per week. That's around 8 years and I wont even go into the hours behind those shows. I could probably write about this for another ten hour but what the hell. I have to have something to write for ya'll later.

Music tip of the day is amazingly not by Armin himself. Kinda hypoctit, yea? Do I care? No!

I came across this track when I recently started watching the TV-show "House". Great guy. It's the theme song and has alot of trance elements in it which of course triggered my music sense.

Enjoy.
